The above images were what I produced during the lifedrawing session that I went to. The pieces were made using chalk, charcoal, pencil, felt-pen and white acrylic paint. I am pleased with the outcome of the session.

Illustration

For our illusstration project we were  asked to write a short story of approximately 250 words. From this, we were meant to create 2x double-page spreads to reflect on the story.

My story was about a squirrel named Mirror. It is a childrens story and so i wanted to reflect this within the page design, composition and colours I used.

To create my double-page spreads, I created a background scene using acrylic paints, of which I then layered a sheet of acetate ontop of. For the writing I used a UHP pen and thought about the composition of the writing and where it would look best. For example on the second of the pages, I gave the text a curved base line to reflect on what the writing was saying. ‘The wind picked up..’

Visual Communication pathway

The last pathway rotation that we did was Visual Communications. The saying, ‘save the best till last’  it definitely true! I really enjoyed this pathway and produced what I think is the best work I’ve produced so far. Before I started the Foundation Diploma I had my mind set that I was going to choose Fine Art as my pathway due to the fact that this is all ive known. My previous work is all extremely fine art based and so by enjoying the Visual Communications pathway so much, was such a shock! My ambition is to pursue a career in Graphic Design. Yes it will be a struggle, but I am more then willing to work hard to achieve my goals.

Below is a few images of the work that I created during the pathway
